Menachem Bluming

The executive director and rabbi of Chabad Shul of Potomac, Maryland, since 2003, Menachem Mendel Bluming actively involves himself in his community. In recognition of this engagement, Menachem Bluming has garnered recognition from the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington as a recipient of the Matthew H. Simon Rabbinical Award.

Rabbi Matthew Simon has long maintained an impressive presence in the Greater Washington, DC, Jewish community. A former president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, he reached the rank of captain in the US Navy prior to his retirement after nearly 30 years. Rabbi Simon currently holds an emeritus post at B’nai Israel Congregation in Rockville, Maryland.

Rabbi Simon’s contributions continue to be honored today by the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, which each year presents his namesake award to a deserving individual.

The award recognized Menachem M. Bluming’s leadership and dedication across the spectrum of the area’s Jewish community and was presented at the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington’s annual meeting.
